As part of the annual Supervisory Review and Evaluation Process (SREP), the European Central Bank has set the total SREP capital requirement for NWB Bank at 11%. The total SREP capital requirement is effective from 1 January 2027.
The total SREP capital requirement is the sum of the total Pillar 1 requirement of 8% and the Pillar 2 requirement of 3%. The Overall Capital Requirement (OCR) is calculated by including buffer requirements: the capital conservation buffer (2.5%) and the countercyclical buffer (2% for lending in the Netherlands).
As of 30 June 2026, the Tier 1 capital ratio excluding profit for the year amounts to 40.6%. As such, NWB Bank’s capitalization is substantially above the ECB requirement.
